Dr. Farah Ahmed is an Assistant Research Professor at the University of Cambridge’s Faculty of Education and a Governing Body Fellow at Hughes Hall. She is an academic whose research focuses primarily on Islamic educational philosophy, dialogic pedagogy, and contemporary Muslim schooling.
In August 2026, Dr. Ahmed became the subject of investigative reports published by The Spectator and The Telegraph which drew national attention to Dr. Ahmed’s background. Media reports highlighted that Dr. Ahmed was a former member and activist for Hizb ut-Tahrir, an Islamist political group that was officially proscribed as a terrorist organization by the UK government in 2024.
